Prof. Dr. Cristiano
Nabuco de Abreu
Psychologist, PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Minho (Portugal), and Postdoctorate from the Department of Psychiatry at the Hospital das Clínicas, School of Medicine, University of São Paulo (HCFMUSP). He has over 40 years of experience in clinical practice, higher education, and research.
He founded a pioneering unit in Latin America dedicated to treating technology addiction, coordinating the development of psychotherapy intervention models at the Psychiatry Institute of HCFMUSP from 2004 to 2023.
He serves as the director of the Postgraduate Specialization in Technology Addiction and the Postgraduate Specialization in Cognitive Therapies at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUC/PR).
He served as a technical consultant for the Federal Government from 2019 to 2022 under the Ministry of Women, Family, and Human Rights within the Reconecte Program. He was also a technical consultant for the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (UN) in Geneva for the "Digitization of Education" project (2022).
Between 2024 and 2025, he was part of the Working Group for the Secretariat of Digital Policies of the Social Communication Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, contributing to the development of the Guide for the Conscious Use of Screens and Digital Devices.
He is the author of 15 books published in Brazil and internationally, including a work published by Wiley (New York) and translated into eight languages. Throughout his career, he has contributed directly to the production of more than one thousand articles and features for mainstream media outlets.
